An account of the missionary labors and martyrdom of Cardinal Charles-Thomas Maillard De
Tournon, who died in a Macau prison in 1710 after a controversy over the use of traditional
Chinese rites in Christian practice. Followed by 7 related papal decrees and other documents,
1702-1711. The account is apparently unpublished, although another uncredited copy was
offered by Vindel in his 1903 catalogue, item 2415, that copy being 133, [28] leaves and
bearing a slightly different title.
