This poster is a significant departure from Broders’ signature style and marks one of the few times he
attempts to embrace Machine Age graphics. “In this poster one can feel the influence of Cassandre”
(Reclame p. 113), as Broders’ depiction of the locomotive is quite similar to that of Cassandre’s
masterpiece,
Nord Express
, which was printed in 1927. Art Deco p. 21, Broders p. 82, Perry / Broders
p. 36, Reclame 82, Voyage p. 38, Weill 329, Chemins de Fer 151, Marseille p. 57, Golden Age 137,
Zagrodzki 241, Le Train p. 78.
