This image differs from the others in the aforementioned series in that there is not a larger-than-life

close-up image; rather, Matter presents the Alpine peaks with the cable cars far above them, even

passing through the clouds. The immensity of the Alps, and man’s ability to surmount natural obstacles

are both put into perspective by a diminutive couple sitting at the bottom of the poster. Matter p. 104,
