Trained as an apprentice in the Wolfsberg printing plant, Kuhn went on to open his own graphic

design studio. He was very active during the 1940s and won several awards for his work, including this

campaign for the Swiss Telephone Company. This simple, direct form of visual communication is

built around a photomontage of a hand with a telephone superimposed over a stylized map of Europe,

on which the ear-piece is connected to major European cities by red lines. Werbestil p. 159, Fundacion
