Auriac studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and went on to a career as a poster designer. He
worked under contract for de La Vasselais, a large French publisher that also represented Hervé
Morvan, and at one time, Raymond Savignac. Auriac worked on many prominent accounts including
Bally, Evian, Gitanne cigarettes and various airlines. Color, vibrancy and humor are all qualities evident
in Auriac’s poster design.

Eric’s use of bold, bright colors and simple, often abstract images were a perfect combination for the
advertisements of the 1950s, 60s and 70s, when he was in his heyday. He designed innovative posters
for the French Railway in the 1960s and 70s, in which he was able to imply speed through the dynamic
