These stock posters (the blank area in each could be filled in with the names of stores) are stylistically

unique among Villemot’s work. The images of the people, delineated with a white outline against a

flat, monochromatic background, are unusual for the artist, as is the level of graphic sophistication

employed in showing a tailored-man emerging from a bolt of cloth. Villemot 317, 318.
