Group of 50 Bertillon-inspired mug shot cards featuring criminals apprehended on theWest Coast,
including Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco; 11 with a single forward- or side-facing photograph,
and the remaining with a front and side view of the accused individual, all of which are men. Each
card measures 5x6

and notations, the (often redacted) name of the sitter, and usually including the individual’s crime,
where they were arrested or examined, and occasionally additional notes, such as a sentence or alias.
