inches (3.2x3.8 cm.), trimmed to the edges of the image at the top and bottom, but with a thin
black border at the right and left. Circa 1940
[8,000/12,000]
From the estate of a relative of Marilyn Monroe; to the owner of the image archive “Silver Screen.”
An early photobooth picture of Norma Jeane Mortensen/Baker (a/k/a Marilyn Monroe 1926-1962), which
was originally given to a relative, and is perhaps her first self portrait. The fashionably-attired teenager, who is
shown in a houndstooth jacket and plaid shirt, is depicted before she married for the first time.
Although originally part of a series of 3 or 4 images, this photograph is vintage and unique. Negatives created by
photobooth kiosks were retained in the machine but subsequently destroyed.
A rare property and primary object.
