cm. de La Vasselais, Paris.
Condition A-: creases and abrasions in margins and image.
Auriac studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris and went on to a career as a poster designer. He
worked under contract for de La Vasselais, a large French publisher, which also represented Hervé
Morvan, and at one time Raymond Savignac. Auriac worked on all the major accounts such as Bally,
Evian, Gitanne cigarettes, various airlines and more. This image, for the leader of the French wrist
watch market, is Auriac at his best; employing bold, simple lines and flat colors to create a synthetic,
almost abstract image. Musée de l’Affiche 113, L’Art de l’Affiche Francaise 165.
