the lines distinct, with strong contrasts and crisp, inky plate edges.

MacDonald cites a small group of impressions of this subject from the second state on

Japan paper; there are similar impressions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NewYork,

and the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Brunswick, Maine. Kennedy 75; Glasgow 95.
