Another was issued in 1906. The Christian
and Educational Congress was essentially a
gathering of representatives from the Negro col-
leges of the country. There are articles on
education but also on racial progress. Garland
Penn, the compiler and editor, was the author of
the mammoth and still relevant reference, The
Afro-American Press and its Editors (1891).
