Includes A Victor discography, 5 8 x 10 photographs, a

“Publicity Manual,” a couple of letters written by John “Bill” Oldham” regarding Armstrong in the

1930’s; and a number of illustrations of the early Armstrong record labels. Driggs was one of the pre-

eminent collectors of jazz history and memorabilia. The Society Rag was a jazz aficionado’s

magazine with articles on current as well as historic jazz, including a good deal on Armstrong.

One of Sun Ra’s and his Arkestra’s more

avant garde posters. The Sun Ra Arkestra, like

Don Cherry and Ornette Coleman is noted for

a certain style of simultaneous ad-lib, quite jar-

ring to the ear of all but the faithful.
