South Carolina photographer G.N. Barnard (1819-1902) captured some of the best images of the

post bellum South. Some of these views are typical “cotton picking” etc, but others like “Old Maumer

selling Groundnut candy in the Streets of Charleston” “Plantation scene” and “Chimney Sweeps”

are among the better than the average stereo cards of this time.
