the 50 centimes allocated to it in accordance with the attached letter [not present] from

the Commissary of the Executive Directory there. 1

authorizing a request for animal hides (“Return to Director-General of Finance to allow

this request if deemed appropriate”), in French, on a letter from the Sultan’s Council of

State to Kléber making the request, Cairo, November 25, 1799, in Arabic, with the French

translation written above the Council letter [by Baudeuf], and on verso, a letter (lacking

salutation), signed by Baudeuf in Cairo on November 30, 1799, giving some related com-

mentary, in French. 2 pages, tall 4to, written on recto and verso of a single sheet.
