citations”—Stevens 2545. The Our Lady of Guadalupe print affixed to the verso of the title

Miguel Mateo Maldonado y Cabrera (1695–1768) was the great Mexican painter of his era. The
Maravilla Americana was his influential work on Our Lady of Guadalupe, in which he analyzed
the materials used in the painting and concluded that it was of divine origin. Not known at auction
