Condition A-: unobtrusive tear at bottom edge;
light creasing in image. Paper.
This image, advertising a production of “The
Marriage,” is a perfect example of Tomaszewski’s
magic; an intentionally naïve drawing of a
wedding ring with a little bride inside, bordered
by two freely-drawn, festive red lines.
Gombrowicz was a close friend of Tomaszewski
and they shared the same creative instinct. This
is the
RARE
first printing. Tomaszewski p. 45.

Condition A-: creases in margins and image;
light staining along edges; hand-signed by the
artist. Paper.
For this exhibition of Belgian Art Nouveau
posters, Tomaszewski places the foot and part
of the shawl of a can-can dancer against a bright
yellow background to catch the public’s eye. He
uses his preferred method of free-hand lettering.
It is a strong, improbable and effective design.
This is the
RARE
first printing. Weill p. 319,
Plakat Kunst p. 162, Exposons 65.
