For an agency aimed to help returning prisoners of
war readjust to society, Games uses a multi-level
image of transition to encourage veterans to take
part in the program. There is a shift from darkness
to light, a change from tire tracks to paving stones
and the open door itself. The poster also represents
a transition for the artist, who while still displaying
some of his trademark surreal elements, was also
moving into a brighter, more optimistic style.
