An album with 101 photographs of vaude-

ville performers, both men and women,

some in wild costumes and blackface.

With one photograph by Savony and 18 of the

images autographed by performers, many

inscribed to “Little Renie,” who compiled the

album. Silver prints, the images measuring 3

inches in diameter to 8x10 inches (7.9 to

20.3x25.4 cm.), mounted recto/verso on black

paper pages, each performer or group with a

caption in white ink. Oblong folio, pictorial red

suede, lightly worn. Circa 1909

Renie Riano was a stage and character actress who

made her start in a vaudeville act with her mother,

stage actress Irene Riano.

(FEMALE FRIENDSHIP)

A whimsical album with more than 85 photographs depicting 3 women in various

compositions and poses.

Including many images of these gal pals playfully composed around trees, fences, and lakes, or

together under umbrellas, with bicycles, and using each other as props for balancing or leaning, as

well as tableaux in various types of dress (including pants and theatrical costumes, or in petticoats

at their toilet). Presumably the three also acting as photographers; a few images with a boy and male

figure. Silver and printing-out paper prints, the images measuring approximately 4
