Group of 100 mug shots of suspected criminals, all men, each featuring a photograph of the subject,
as well as typed or handwritten notations, each on a police department or criminal investigation
mount; includes a man arrested for stealing salad dressing, as well as forgingW.P.A. checks, stealing
chickens, burglars, gamblers, and murderers. The men hail from New York State, Kentucky, Ohio,
Michigan, Reno, and Philadelphia, among other locales. Silver prints, each approximately 3x4

inches (7.6x11.4 cm.), or slightly smaller, each with various notations, typed or in ink, usually
including the suspect’s name, a date, the alleged crime, a location, and additional identifying features,
many also with a Bureau Criminal Identification & Investigation or alternate hand stamp; each with
the subject’s finger prints on verso; approximately 30 on Bertillon mounts from Ohio State, but
often without the measurements filled in. 1920s-40s
