gold-toned or gilt highlighted. One a double case in which a young and handsome Union soldier

is shown next to his sister; plus a young boy with a posing stand peeking out behind him; three

serious sibling; and more; two are in Union cases, one in a mother-of-pearl case, and the remaining

in full or half leather cases. 1850s

Group of 17 daguerreotype portraits, all but

three of them are “from life,” including sisters

holding hands and displaying what appears to

be a daguerreotype of an older woman (their

mother?); studies of fashionably attired young

women and men, including 3 quarter-plates,

comprising 2 of well-dressed women and the

third of a father and daughter; 3 reproductions,

comprising a half-plate depicting a painting of

a woman and a quarter-plate of a painting of a

young boy; and a ninth-plate of a silhouette; and

more; in leather cases. 1850s
