A British-born painter and watercolorist, Lamplough turned his attention to North Africa after 1902.
He wrote and illustrated several books on the region including
Cairo and its Environs

Egypt and How to See it
and others. Lamplough is known to have designed at least four posters for the
Egyptian Railways. Not in Orientalist.
