Framed.
Formed in 1872 to operate a service between Le
Havre and Brazil, Compagnie des Chargeurs
Reunis began routes to Indo-China (a federation
of French colonies including modern day
Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Burma) in the
early 1900s. Service continued until WorldWar II
when the loss of French Indo-China gradually
forced the company to end passenger services.
Throughout his career as a “ship portraitist,”
Sandy-Hook designed posters for 28 shipping
and ship building companies.
