Odermatt and Tissi founded a renowned design studio whose “work has evolved from the rigorous
formality of the international typographical style to embrace a more playful and intuitive approach
inspired by post modernism” (Graphic Design & Designers, by Allan and Isabella Livingstone. Thames
& Hudson, 1992. P. 147). This nod to El Lizitsky is typical of their style, in which “unexpected
typographic elements are held in taut asymmetric balance by the subtle variations in type, weight and
