In addition to being a poster designer, Havinden (who signed his work with his first name) was also
the creative director of the Crawford Agency, a cutting-edge advertising firm that was developing the
“International Style” in the 1950s. Here, for one of his largest clients and most recognized campaigns,
he plays with Martini’s corporate logo, using color circles and stripes combined with a more fluid and
