“Dear Mr. Long,” sending his autograph and, in a postscript additionally Signed, remarking

on his inability to sing. 1 page, 8vo, personal stationery; horizontal fold, faint scattered

staining.

The postscript:“I perform my music best.The problem is I can’t sing.”

SOUSA, JOHN PHILIP. Typed Letter Signed, to Albert C. Sherman, Jr., explain-

ing that Sousa had created some instructional materials for trumpet and drum, but that it

had gone out of print. 1 page, oblong 8vo, “Sousa and His Band” stationery; vertical folds,

staple holes at upper left and upper right.
