Decrees dated 7 June 1755, 28 June 1759, 3 September 1759, 3 October 1759, 28
February 1761, and 28 August 1767. The first one relates to the Indians of the states of
Maranhaõ and Pará, and begins “Eu el Rey. Faço saber aos que ester alvará com força de ley
virem, que, havendo restituido aos indios do Graõ Pará, e Maranhaõ a liberdade das suas
