Pair of half-plates, comprising a daguerreo-

type of a soldier (his belt buckle gilted)

posing with his father, and an ambrotype of

an officer in a tropical studio setting, with

the American flag draping a table.

The first in a contemporary seal and full leather

case and the second a leather case (separated at

hinge). Early 1860s
