the-shoulder dress.

With Gurney’s stamped credit on the mat; contemporary seals; in a leather case (separated at hinge).

the first in its original seals; each in leather cases. 1850s.

(AMERICAN MILITARY)

Half-plate daguerreotype of Roland G. Usher (1823-1895).

With a handwritten period note laid in indicating that the image was made when he was “first

commissioned in the Massachusetts regiment;” in a leather case. Circa 1850

Usher went on to have a political career in Massachusetts, where he served as the 11th Mayor of Lynn.
