California Photographer, 1829-1916
(Harvard, 1982), not only served as the foundation for much of
the later research onWatkins, but was also one of the very first art history dissertations to focus on
the photographic medium.
Watkins made this photograph looking north-northeast from Glacier Point toward Tenaya Canyon.
His inventory number was 101.
