smaller, and the reverse, many with Lorimer’s
hand stamp and a few with his signature and

Lorimer was a NewYork-based AIDS researcher and
co-author (with Deborah Bull and Anne Horton) of
the photobook Up the Nile: A Photographic
Excursion 1839-1898. An avid photographic
enthusiast who, according to friends “always walked
around with a camera,” this lot demonstrates his
creative exploration of the medium.

GLOVER, CLEVELAND (active late 1960s-70s)
Group of 144 photographs of (mostly) African American women in the Bay Area, with a range of
subjects, including provocative images of women lying on their beds or posing on stools or car
hoods, fashion images, cotillon and party photographs, portraits of administrators and corporate
executives, pictures in people’s homes, couples, and families. Silver prints, most are 8x10 inches
(20.3x25.4 cm.), and the reverse, and 47 are 6
