comprising Parole Violators Wanted Booklet, in
Indiana (1928), and variant copies of Known and
Suspected Criminals, in the Cleveland Areas
(1955 and 1958). Each with reproductions of mug
shots and short descriptions. 12mos, printed
wrappers; the latter 2 with a metallic clip binding.

A pictorial extravaganza of small-format publications
issued to police officers. The Parole booklet contains
151 images; and the Cleveland pubs have 107 and
104 mugshots, respectively. Beyond the usual
assortment of pimps, pushers, prostitutes, and thieves
was Cleveland’s very own mobster Shondor Birns,
who was later killed in a car bombing.
