Personal scrapbook-cum-album associated with the French theatrical photographer Clement-Just,
with 17 medium-format photographs of actors performing their roles for the camera, plus 3 cabinet
card and 4 cartes-de-visite, as well as a host of prints and drawings, newspaper and magazine
clippings, and related ephemera linked to leading lights of the French theatre; three of the portraits
may be the work of either Nadar or Mayer & Pierson (the salted paper prints). Albumen (14) and
salted paper (3) prints, 12x7 inches (30.5x17.8 cm.), a few with Just’s signature on recto. Oblong
folio, backstrip perished, worn; contents detached. Late 1870s
