Canadian-born Austin Cooper was stylistic virtuoso and a prolific artist, working extensively for the
London Underground and Britain’s different railway companies. His posters reflect many different
design concepts, from the cartoonish to the literal. Here, he applies Cubist principles to commercial
graphics and the result is an intriguing montage of Parisian imagery.
