Hirst, world renowned as the star of the British contemporary art scene, is better known for his animals
in formaldehyde, dot paintings and butterfly paintings than for his posters promoting new albums,
however, as a penultimate self-promoter and marketer, he involved himself in many different projects.
Such side projects included designing the artwork for Anthony Genn and Martin Slattery’s album
cover, as well as creating similar skull-themed images for at least six of the group’s singles. Skulls took
on a larger role in Hirst’s work the following year when he created
For The Love of God,
a platinum-
plated skull adorned with 8,601 diamonds.
