The magazine,
Ver Sacrum, [Sacred Spring],
was
the official organ of the Vereinigung Bildender
Kunstler Oesterreichs, the group responsible for
the Vienna Secession. The magazine first
appeared in 1898, printed in conjunction with
the Secession artist’s first exhibition. For their
thirteenth exhibition the magazine features
Moser’s poster for the exhibition on the cover,
in addition to a full page lithograph of the same
image inside the magazine. This issue was pub-
lished on the day before the closing of the
exhibition which ran from February 1 to March
