Condition B+ / B: restoration along sharp vertical and horizontal folds.
A painter, architect, graphic designer and teacher, von Stuck was a founding member of the Munich
Secession in 1893. His work was largely inspired by mythology, which he presented in a sculptural,
academic manner, often using metallic gold inks and dark colors. The majority of his posters were
designed to promote exhibitions. This image of Apollo in his chariot was used again in 1913 with dif-
ferent text to promote another exhibition. DFP III 3218, Kunst 473.
