Oil on canvas board, 1918. 381x305 mm; 15x12 inches. Initialed in oil, lower right recto. Signed and dated "2 4 18" in brown crayon on the verso.
Provenance: private collection, Philadelphia.
Henry Bozeman Jones studied at the School of Pedagogy and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts from 1908 - 1910. While earning a living as a children's book illustrator, Jones worked as a painter and printmaker. A contemporary of Allan Freelon in Philadelphia, he exhibited his work in the Harmon Foundation exhibitions of 1929, 1930, 1931 and 1933 in New York.
