The Contemporary Art department offers prints, drawings, sculptures and paintings from all the major movements of the last 75 years, including Pop Art, Minimalism, Abstract and Conceptualism.
Top sales include a set of four color screen prints by Jean-Michel Basquiat, for $200,000; Ellsworth Kelly's Milkweed for $125,000; Bluescape by Lynne Drexler for $87,500; Andy Warhol’s portrait of Mick Jagger for $106,250; and Reverie by Roy Lichtenstein for $75,000. We have also set records for prints by David Hockney, Cy Twombly and David Wojnarowicz, among others.
We have offered several notable single owner collections, such as the Collection of Norman Dolph; the Collection of Francis V. O’Connor; Works by Louise Nevelson from the Collection of Albert Argentieri; Works from the Collection of Stephen Poleskie, Founder of Chiron Press; and the Feminist Collection of Harriet Lyons.
