Second edition, two quarto volumes, engraved frontispiece portrait of Cook opposite the title, illustrated with fifty-three (of sixty-three) full-page and folding engravings and maps (including the large folding map of the Southern hemisphere, mounted), some tears, mostly repaired on verso, some plates stained, and other defects, bound in early marbled paper boards neatly rebacked in pale calfskin with red morocco labels, 11 18 x 8 3/4 in.
