JEAN COCTEAU (1889-1963)
Concept sketch for Christian Bérard's Théâtre de la Mode. Graphite on paper, circa 1945. 270x210 mm; 10 1/2x8 1/4 inches. Unsigned. Mounted to window matte in two places, verso top. Bérard created a model of the theater one tenth its size. It is prominently displayed in the Maryhill Museum in Goldendale Washington that was built by the Queen of Romania in Oregon.

Condition:
Clean image with no marks or toning. Adhered to matte along top edge; soft diagonal creases extending into image from top left and another from bottom left, else good.
