Signed January 14, 1871; bound in full contemporary pebbled navy morocco over beveled boards, gilt extra; with Grant's note tipped between endleaves in volume one; illustrated with all plates as called for, the set consisting of four large quarto volumes in uniform deluxe bindings, aeg, 11 x 8 1/2 in.
