Album with 50 hand-colored photographs depicting Hong Kong and Canton.
Opening with a series of photographs of Hong Kong Harbor, which taken as a whole form a panorama of the famous city, and including shots of the Peak, Queens Road, gardens, and more, as well as occupational studies of police, men smoking opium, street vendors and vehicles, a funeral procession, an execution scene, a "Chinese home," and more. Also with several images of Canton at the rear of the volume. Hand-colored albumen prints, the images measuring 8x10¼ inches (20.3x26 cm.), and the reverse, mounted recto/verso, many with a caption in the negative. Oblong folio, red lacquer boards with ivory inlay and gilt highlights, worn; backstrip perished; with Mumeya's Hong Kong hand stamp on the rear pastedown. Circa 1900
