From a wide grin to a solemn, stoic demeanor, the subject's self-portraits are a compelling typology of self-representation. The man is generally wearing button down work shirts but several depict him wearing a suit; some appear to be taken on the same day. One of the prints with a younger man and another with a mysterious arm in the background. Silver prints, the framed images measuring approximately 3x2½ inches (7.6x6.4 cm.), each framed in a photomatic frame of either metal or cardboard. 1940s
