Ladies' Fashion. * Children's Fashion. Together, two volumes of clothing designs from Du Barry Fashion Studios, New York. The first includes approximately 170 pages of plates illustrating ladies' fashion in mixed media, including graphite, gouache, and watercolor on onion skin stapled to paper; some with notations, and most with dates throughout 1942. Includes one hand-colored lithograph, which is torn from the volume. The second includes approximately 130 pages of plates illustrating children's fashion from 1939 to 1942. Graphite or paint on onionskin stapled to paper; some with added notations in graphite, and most with Du Barry Fashion Studios stamp at lower right. Each approximately 240x100 mm; 9 1/2x4 inches, on 8 1/2x11-inch sheets. Includes a small section of lithographs at the end of the volume, some of which are hand-colored.

Condition notes:
Condition varies for illustrations in both volumes; most sheets have wrinkling or puckering, some have tears, some onion skin sheets have come loose from the page. Toning to edges of onion skin sheets, with some discolorations surrounding staples.
Volumes are bound in typical salesman's faux-leather embossed cloth. Edgeworn.
Children's volume is gilt-stamped "Children/1939 to 1942/DuBarry Fashion Studios" on spine. Tips and joints rubbed, the latter cracked along front but holding, some splits along head and feet.
Ladies' Fashion volume hand-labeled "House 1941-2 / [vol] 47 along spine and stamped Morris W. Haft & Brothers on cover. Rubbing to spine ends and tips.
