In 1970, twelve members of the Gay Activists Alliance entered the Republican State Committee Headquarters in New York to demand the repeal of laws against the gay community. Five members of the Gay Activists Alliance (later the "Rockefeller 5") were arrested for criminal trespassing during the sit-in. They were refused an audience, and were later acquitted of these charges. They are depicted here in front of the Criminal Courts with other demonstrators from the GAA showing support.
