Group of 32 photograph associated with nuclear bomb detonations during a ten year period, 1946-56.
With 3 photogrpahs associated with Bikini-Atoll, 2 of 1953 Nevada blasts by Edgerton, 15 depicting other 1950s blasts, 10 photographs of the U.S. Naval Radiological Defense Lab, and 2 prints of Stoneman. A traumatic, if visually arresting, series of photographic studies of mushroom clouds from above and below, with two stop motion studies credited to Edgerton's studio; many of the images of the laboratory depict scientists monitoring radiation exposure on lab animals. Ferrotyped silver prints, the images measuring 7½x9½ inches (19x24.1 cm.), and the reverse, the sheets slightly larger, many with captions and dates, in ink, or the hand stamp of the U.S. Naval Radiological Defense Lab, on verso. 1946-56
