A group of approximately 62 photographs depicting indigenous life in Central and South America, including Colombia, Peru, Panama, Brazil, and Mexico.
A mini-archive of various indigenous tribes, including the Bororo of Brazil, the Chocó of Panama, the Yagua of Peru and Colombia, and the Wayuu of Colombia and Venezuela, among others. The collection includes scenes of hunting, wrestling, arts and crafts, courtship, and family life. Silver prints, the majority of the images measuring approximately 8x10 inches (25.4x20.3 cm.), and a few smaller, and the reverse, with one of Severin's various credit hand stamps on all but one print, and many with captions and/or notations, in ink, on verso. 1940s-50s
