Includes ornate architectural details, lavishly decorated home interiors, street vendors and their shops bursting with wares, in situ and studio portraits of Tunisian women and children, river views, and 4 richly hand-colored bazaar scenes; eleven of the prints are credited to J. André Garrigues. Albumen (14) prints, silver (7) prints, and photochromes (4), the images measuring 5¼x3¾ to 8¾x11 inches (13.3x9.5 to 22.2x27.9 cm.), more than half with the photographers' credit, title, location and/or inventory notation, in the negative. Oblong folio, brown leatherette with gilt-lettering, slight wear along edges. 1870s-90s
WITH--Two silver prints, one depicting a Tunisian outdoor café and the second of Algerian women's attire, the images measuring 9x6¾ and 10x7¾ inches (22.9x17.1 and 25.4x19.7 cm.), each with a photographers' credit, title, and inventory number, in the negative. 1880s-90s
