269 •(CALIFORNIA & OREGON--LUMBER & LANDSCAPE) Thick album with 289 photographs made throughout the magnificent West Coast, comprising images of gigantic Redwood trees, both standing and felled, the grand rock-formations of Yosemite National Park, the San Fernando Mission, and coastal oil rigs.
Including images by a wide variety of accomplished commercial photographers, apparently purchased from various studios and compiled into this album. The thorough range of subject matter encompasses multiple national parks, coastal seascapes, San Francisco, Catalina Island, Mariposa Grove, Oregon City, Los Angeles, and a series of timber trade images, a few possibly by Kinsey, showing burley lumberjacks posed with vast sections of downed trees. Silver prints, the images measuring 3½x5½ to 8x10 inches (8.9x14 to 20.3x25.4 cm.), nearly all with captions in the negative, or in ink, on recto.
