(DANCING QUEENS)
A series of 50 photographs depicting the traveling dance troupe Hal Sands Manhattan Rockets.
In the style of the famed Rockettes, this "girl troupe" of high-kicking dancers performed in dazzling costumes across the country, accompanied by the producer and director Hal Sands (some of the images depicting him). Here the members are shown posing in a line or formation, sometimes mid-performance, and always with bright smiles. The final image shows a billboard advertising a performance. Silver prints, the images measuring 7½x9½ inches (19.1x24.1 cm.), and slightly smaller, and the reverse, the sheets 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), all but seven with the Hal Sands Manhattan Rockets caption printed on recto, and the remaining prints with a photographer's hand stamp, on verso; includes three duplicate images. 1950s
